Lightbulb jeep spudders at take off

Let me start this off by saying this all happened this morning so i have not had a chance to look at the jeep yet, just thought id get some other ideas for when i get home. this morning i got stuck and had to really beat on my jeep (1989 xj 4.0) to get it out. I finally got it out and left it running while i ran inside and it ran fine. i came to a stop at the end of my road and when i took off the jeep spuddered twice and then ran fine, but i had lost power to electronics while this happened because my stereo had shut off but when i hit the power button it turned right back on. it drove fine almost all the way to school even through stopping and starting a few times but when i was right next to my school it happened again when i took off from a stop sign it spuddered and then ran fine but i had lost power to electronics again but it all turned right back on. i should point out that both times this happened i was getting on the gas a little bit. Any ideas would be appreciated and i will be taking a closer look when i get home. Thank you.

Default jeep spudders at take off

alternator might be toast and battery is getting low. grab a multimeter and test the battery if its below 12.2 it's low, if its below 13.5 while jeeps runnings look to alternator

89, check the grounds when you get home. Renix is notorious for many issues when grounds are bad. Look up cruiser54 write up. I can't link on the "smart" phone

Just because the alt is new it doesn't mean that it can't be bad. After you do the system check that salad posted for you and if you are still having problem have you battery load tested and the alt bench tested. Lut us know what you find and Good Lock.

Sorry it has taken so long to write back, have had a lot of work to do, this problem hasn't gotten any worse but it also hasn't gotten better. I haven't had the chance to do the remix system check salad suggested but I plan to when I get the chance, thank you for the help I will try to keep this updated but it may take some time as this is my daily driver and I have to get the time between work and school.

Again sorry it has taken so long for me to reply but after looking around on the jeep I found that the wires leading to the alternator were frayed, and after fixing this I haven't had any problems with it so thank you for all the help
