my 90 xj idles fine but once you give it gas it starts to spuder but the timing is fine, does anyone have a clue whats going on?
Well the first thing i would due is check the air filter to see if it is dirty or oil soaked.
If thats good then think about when the last time you changed your plugs and fuel filter were replaced, about every 30k they should be done depending if you have copper plugs or not.
The last it could be your cat is clogged under normal load enough exhaust gas can make it through but under heavy load/acceleration gasses cant pass thru and causes spuddering/stalling.
