Default Jeep Service Manuals

Wasn't to sure where to post this...

Here's a link to Mopar Service Manuals (from Mopar). A little pricey.

Good link. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, a bit pricy but you can be assured you're getting good info from MOPAR, not some jibberish from Haynes or some other knock-off service manual.

Here is another link to an inexpensive legal, licensed factory service manual.

It's digital, but it's only $7.95.

Here is a site with PDF format Mopar - Chrysler OEM parts catalogs for your year XJ. These are handy because they show exploded views of every thing. Not just for the part numbers.http://www.xjjeeps.com/ And it is FREE.

Thanks for that link. I had the comprehensive "Electronic Service Manual" from Daimler in seperate PDFs but I think I like this one a little better. It seems a little plainer yet more detailed. BTW - Apparently they never made one for the 2001 XJ since it's identical to the 2000.

and...no one has anything for my '87. I assume the '88-'90 will have a majority of the info I need?

www.rockauto.com has the Bishko manual for your year for $147.79. Or, you could get the PDF version of the paper manual on CD Rom for $20.79. Bishko has been licensed by several major manufacturers to reproduce the factory service manuals.

Were I you, I'd get the DC ROM and a Haynes Manual. The Bishko will be more detailed and extensive, but the Haynes will have more accompanying photos that can be really helpful reference points.

Also, I have the Pacific Manual for my '98. Really great reference tool!

I bought this one for my 93 XJ and its HUGE. like 1300 pages. sounds promising. However, it has zero pictures or instructions on how to do anything. It has diagnosing tips but as far as how to actually do a repair it will just say to remove [part], then remove [this part], then remove [this other part]. Very simple, very basic, and very unhelpful if I'm trying to tackle a repair that I've never done before and have no idea where to locate these things.

I've seen and owned manuals that do have those things I mentioned. I mean it was only 8 bucks so it's not like I didn't get what I paid for, I was just hoping for something more haha.

Factory service manuals are not big on pictures....but the text is way more specific and helpful (and correct) than Haynes and Chiltons IMHO.

I have a 2001 XJ and managed to acquire a factory service manual in PDF form for free. Nice thing is, since it's a PDF, I always have it on my Android! My hint as to how? Google!

Between Cruiser and 5-90, I think we've got a pretty complete knowledge base on things Renix....good stuff.

Do proper Google searches, and you won't pay a dime for everything you need...I didn't anyways.
I've got the renix fuel injection manual, 87-90 fsm, parts catalogues, wiring schematics, motor manual...list goes on...free.
