Jeep Not Running. Need Help.
Ive owned 2000 jeep cherokee sport for about 3 months now. It started off okay but soon it started bucking and rpms jumping everywhere until it woudlnt start. This was about a month and a half ago. Since then i have replaced regular stuff like oil, the thermostat. Small stuff. I also put in a new ECU since thats what the shop said was wrong. After that ive had the same problems. It wont idle long and stalls often, even while driving. I just got the p1391 code recently and just today replaced the camshaft position sensor. After a test drive it did okay, the rpms werent very erraric however the did dip and rise a few times, but on my way home without warning the jeep stalled. After a few minutes it did start back up. Im thinking I need a new CPS but being new ish to jeeps i wanted to be sure. Any help or advice would be greatly appriciated. Thank you.

It sounds like you can have a crank sensor problem , people say you need to get a mopar sensor or you can have other problems or it won't last long .

If the Jeep is new to you the very first thing you should be doing is cleaning and refreshing all the grounds... Cruiser 54 has his own web page. He's one of the moderators. His word is pretty much the Bible on Cherokees. And the Genesis chapter says...
"Thy Shall Refresheth Thy Grounds."
Really it can cause all kinds of problems with vehicles. The ones on the battery the ones to the firewall the ones to the back of the engine block the ones to the oil dipstick and my personal favorites are the ones to the coil which cause all kinds of bucking and sputtering on your RPMs. Good luck and welcome to the addiction!
