I have tried the injectors, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, my only other thought is the fuel pump is going.
The jeep runs great then suddenly chokes/sputters/dies..
Any thoughts

Post some specs of your XJ. Auto? 4x4? How many miles you got?
1) Definitely load test that battery. When they start to fail, "stalling" at idle is a VERY common symptom.
2)Check all grounds... make sure they are in good condition. Clean the connection points.
3)Test for low voltage to the pump or high resistance at the pump's ground connections. Make sure it has good pressure at fuel rail(45 psi i believe)... replace fuel filter as well. Fuel filters are cheep.
4)Clean your throttle body. Free!
5)Check Throttle Position Sensor (TPS): Key ON, measure voltage between "A" positive and "D" ground. Note the voltage. This is your REFERENCE voltage. Back-probe the connector at wires "B" and "D". Measure the voltage. This is your OUTPUT voltage. Your OUTPUT voltage needs to be eighty-three percent of your REFERENCE voltage. For example 4.8 volts X .83=3.98 volts. Adjust the TPS until you have achieved this percentage. If you can't, replace the TPS and start over. So, if you have an automatic equipped XJ your TPS has two sides--one side feeds the ECU, and the other side feeds the TCU.
6)Check Crankshaft Position Sensor... make sure its clean.
