I'll be looking around my local junkyards so the '99 XJ I just bought can once again say "Jeep" on the front like it's supposed to... Are the letters just glued on? Are they pretty easy to pry off and put back on? If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

 

The easiest way to get them off is to use a heat gun and dental floss. You can't really take a heat gun into the junk yard, but you can take some dental floss in with you to sort of saw through the adhesive without having to pry on the letters. The adhesive will probably be pretty soft in the summer sun. If you search on Youtube for debadging videos, you'll see plenty of examples.

Use 3M emblem adhesive to put them back on. You can get it at auto parts stores. WalMart may have it, but I haven't checked.
