Kinda confused myself seeing as how the cherokee is a unibody, to the best of my knowledge, not sure where a body mount would be. I agree to have him show you what he is talking about, or get another opinion.

All XJs were built as a "Unibody" design with the body and frame rails tied together as one piece as opposed to a body on frame design. Found this on another forum just thought I'd add it.

my best advice is try to find someone ya know (or that a friend knows) just to pass it no questions asked. thats what i do. but as far as the body mount, hhhmmmm, i think your getting jerked around. unibody, no frame. yeah, your getting messed with. someone trying to make an extra buck for a problem that doesn't exist.
only 96 and up have to be hooked to "the machine".

Do you have anyone such as family that lives out of the emissions area? Thats all I'm gonna say hint hint. I know that some places have it state wide so then you'd be out of luck but not here in Washington. It is a unibody vehicle. I would also go back to have them tell you what you need to do, but if its a different person just run it through and see what happens, I believe they dont keep records on your specific car to my knowledge.

there can not be any holes that leads into the passenger cabin. (that includes drain holes that are not plugged).
and there also can not be any sharp metal edges sticking out to harm anyone.
at least that's the way it is here in ontario.
as for a body mount, it must be a fender bracket or something similar.

As a fellow-PA resident, I can resoundingly say.. PA inspection DOES care about the BODY.
Now that this is out of the way....
You need to take it back and explain to the inspection mechanic that, "You have NO clue what he is referring to."
Demand he go out with you and point out the BODY MOUNT on a unibody vehicle.
Have him actually get down and physically point it out.
Mystery solved.
Do this only after you have completed the other repairs.
I assume you received the inspection work-order (shop receipt)?
Take a black Sharpie and check off the repairs as they are done and take it in with you when confronting the inspection mechanic.
For the record...you are not alone. I have NO CLUE what he is referring to.

Agreed, fix everything else on the list and get it reinspected. You already paid for it so you shouldnt be billed again.
Just out of curiosity, where in Pa?

I would take it back to the same mechanic, giving him the benefit of the doubt, and have him show you what he is calling a worn body mount. I'm sure he did see something worn and just didn't identify it as the correct thing. Then fix whatever it is that he is calling worn if it is in fact worn. If he was jacking with you to make a buck then his nose needs to become worn.
