my jeep has codes p1899, p0705, p0700. I know the nss is crapping out, no back up lights, and someone rigged a direct starter push button. but i can live with that.
the thing that is bugging me is the transmission i think, when im driving it loses power, wont hardly go, when you mash it down more you hear popping noises. it only does this 1 time per drive tho for about 30 secs then it is fine.
im thinking to get a new tcu but i dont want to get it if it wont solve that problem.
i really dont care about the nss going bad as long as all it afects is the back up lights and starting the car. it cant cause the above problem can it?
and that p1899 code i have not been able to find much info on it.
right now the jeep has no codes because I disconnected the battery for 15mins that got rid of 2 but p0705 stayed, i erased it with the reader.
I just need some thoughts to as what part is cause the tranmission to act up, tcm, esm, nss?

P0700 EATX Controller DTC Present This SBEC III or JTEC DTC indicates that the EATX or Asin controller has an active fault and has illuminated the MIL via a CCD (EATX) or SCI (Aisin) message. The specific fault must be acquired from the EATX via CCD or from the Aisin via ISO-9141.
P0705 NSS
P1899 (M) P/N Switch Stuck in Park or in Gear Incorrect input state detected for the Park/Neutral switch.
P1899 (M) P/N Switch Stuck in Park or in Gear Incorrect input state detected for the Park/Neutral switch (3 or 4-speed auto trans only)
All of these could be related to the NSS so fix that first and see what is left over. Also when you erase codes or reset ecu, that doesnt help in diagnosing the problem. You need to fix something first and then reset or erase codes, drive around and see what comes back. If they come back automatically then its a defenite issue, if it takes time then its intermittent.
So try fixing or replacing the nss, clear codes, drive around and see what comes back.

I'm betting a new NSS will resolve your issues.
Be aware that it has to be ADJUSTED properly, not just installed. Here is a link.
