We picked up a 2000 sport about two years ago. It's been a problem. Sometimes the high beams don't work, sometimes all the tail lights flash when a turn signal is used. Sometimes there's a sort of squealing noise in the dash when using a turn signal. I did replace the turn signal switch... no improvement. The battery randomly goes dead. The heater never really blows hot air. On a somewhat warm day I can get a trickle of warm, but noting even close to any of our previous cherokees or wranglers. I have flushed the heater core several times and have a great flow there. Since the temps outside have been in the 1's and 10's the heater blows only ice cold air. I feel like it might be stuck sucking in only fresh outside air. Where does the air come into cabin? Also, sometimes when starting the engine after it's been warmed up we'll get a crazy audible vibration from the engine bay that normally goes away after 30 seconds or so.

Do you have OEM headlights?

The tail light problem sounds like a ground issue. Can it happen with the turn signals on either side?

I have had an odd noise from the dash area with the turn signals but only twice & months apart, so no chance of investigating.

 

The headlights are oem. I'd like to get some led but i'm not sure what fits and google only seems to offer up amazon results. I don't shop there so yeah... oem. The turn signal issue happens with either side and the noise in the dash is totally random and doesn't happen every time the signals are used. just once in a while.

I'd really like to know where fresh air comes into the cab heating/cooling system so i can try to block it off. maybe make a little more heat for now.
