Issues with rear locker possibly?? help!
so just recently i have been having issues with my rear diff. not sure whats going on though. heres whats happening.
when the jeep is cold, around 0 degrees give or take 10 outside temp. i let it warm up for 5-10 minutes. throw the jeep in reverse and only one wheel spins, on snow in parking lot. i hit the brakes and when the spinning wheel is almost to a stop, i can hear a noise like the noise teeth on gears make when not meshed together, skipping. like a card in the spokes of a bicycle. then the wheel that wasnt spinning makes a small clunk noise and then both wheels are going. I have the 8.25 rear with a powertrax no slip locker. my wheels are always spinning together so this is why somethings not right. only does it while cold, once warm and after driving 5 miles or so it is totally fine. but its never been like this in the past. is it because the drive wheel isnt getting enough traction at first, on the ice/snow in parking lot, to lock in the other wheel? its got me confused.

I am going to check the diffs fluid in the morning though anyways. maybe its a little low? even though with that new diff cover, the rear holds almost 4 qts of oil.

sounds like something in your locker just isn't being aloud to engage until your gear oil gets worked around a bit. doesn't sound broke yet, maybe be easy on it right off the bat. does sound strange with synthetic fluid though.
