Default Intermittent door locks 2001

I have an intermittent door lock issue about at least once a week. The funny part is I can usually get them working by flipping the passenger door lock button back and fourth a few times. Other than that, if I flip them they make a click sound and do nothing. Sometimes, like today I can't get them to work no matter what I do and then the next day they are working again. Its more of an annoyance than anything but I'm a perfectionist and there isn't a whole lot on this subject. Any help is appreciated.

Could be the wire is shorting out, did your speakers short out yet? I found out yesterday that if I have the power on but the engine isnt running, my doors wont lock(they do unlock though), but if the engine is on the doors will lock. on my 99

My right speaker shorts out like every blue moon. A simple volume/ gain increase makes it come back on. My issue isn't when the car is off or on its all the time for the whole day or at least until I drive around a while and mess with the passenger button. Its like you can hear it trying and nothing happens a d the sound isn't coming from the relay, its coming from the switches.

Have the same electrical gremlin in my 01,,, did some research and found some people said that removing the passenger side door panel and slightly bending the locking rod to keep it from binding, havnt done it yet but Mabey someone will chime in and give you the exact process. ..hell is like to know it myself lol

On my 91 my rods got bent and didn't lock right but I never did anything to fix it, just left it unlocked. So I can't help you. But I'm pretty sure your speakers will be going out soon due to the wires shorting. Sorry I can't help.

Got similar issues. My door locks won't work at all on my 01 after a heavy rain storm. Windows only work from drivers side master control. Friggin annoying when it happens. I'm gonna check all the wires that pass through the doors & if they are okay, I'll buy & replace the master control. Swapping new axles in & 35's are more of a priority at the moment.

This issue is more of an annoyance than anything and there isn't a whole bunch about it also.
