Default Interior questions! Help!

I had a 96 XJ and I like the way the interior is set up. But the thing is I sold it. Now im looking at either buying an 89 or 90 XJ, and i believe the XJ's switched interior style after ?93?. So my question is, can if i were to get a 89 or 90 can I put 95+ steering wheel or whole column in and the center console with storage? Oh and the guage cluster? im making this purchase soon, so can I get some insight please?!

I have owned 3 jeeps in my 3 years of driving lol. And I had a 88 an 89 and now a 96. As far as I know mostly everything is the same except the steering wheel and the guage cluster. And to be honest, I thought the steering wheel with no airbag was cooler lol. But i'm not sure if you can switch it out because on my 89 the cruise control was on the turn signal switch while on my 96 it is on the wheel. Not sure how you would manage that one. But yea, other than that from my experience it is virtually the same.

And the guage cluster might be the same... my 88 had an awesome one where it had two big guages, speed and fuel and the rest were pretty much obsolete, but my 89 and 96 have the same one.

If you are lucky this is what you might get in an older one

is there a way to switch it out with a newer gauge cluster? i was hoping for a tach and maybe something better than just light up oil and battery stuff

Yea, I'm pretty sure there is. I remember because I saw a write up on it, but i wanted to take the old cluster and put it in my new jeep... But I'm sure you can do it for the newer one. But I know it just takes some patience doing it because you don't want to knock any of the needles around and throw them off. I'm not sure where I found the write up
