My next question is floor pans, while gutting the xj today i noticed the passenger side is rusting pretty good, i found them for 96 and down but nothing for the 97 the ones i found on quadratec doesnt have the seat riser

I was under my jeep once and thought the metal looked funny, like the undercoating or something was peeling away... Then I realized it was the carpet. Here's what I did to my 99.

The rust is from doing some grinding above and not getting all the crap out after.

The seat risers I made from 18gauge and the floors made from 16 gauge diamond plate. Both sides front to back. The nice thing was moving both front seats back 3". I'm 6' and it makes a big difference.
But if you need a riser for the front seat, I might be able to bend you a set from either mild or stainless of you want. You'll just have to trim and bend the end tabs to fit you contour. Let me know.

It's actually better now there's a floor. Lol.
It's louder for sure, but it's not my DD, so not much concern. I put an 18gauge alum heat shield under pass side above exhaust. Made it removable with wing nuts and studs welded to floor. Just an extra layer helps well. I replaced the carpet over the tunnel and added insulation/heat shield from Eastwood under carpet. Works well.
