Maxxis Big Horns are a great all around. There like a cross between the BFG mt's and MTR's but at a budget price...

just one thing puzzles me tho... where to buy from becouse they will only be a deal if i can get them cheap with low shipping costs and Qtech has pretty high prices

also check into firestone destination m/t, and pro comp m/t...
also i have heard a lot of good things about definity dakota m/t, they are a steal as far as price go, and do well in mud and as a DD, but have a weak sidewall...

The trxus tires are interco's attempt to make a road-worthy mud terrain but they still need to do their homework. The tire is a hit or miss to most people who buy it. Sometimes you get a good set, sometimes you get a crappy set. I got one good set out of the 4 that i had on both of my jeeps. Not very lucky.
If you want to save some money, check out www.treadwright.com. They are retreaded tires that have been proven among the jeep community. I haven't heard a bad thing about them, and no they are not related to the tires from semi's that you see along the side of the road. They have a MT/R version that looks pretty much identical to the goodyear tire. Check it out.

wifey has my old 33 inch trxus on her tj. i had em on my xj for 2 years as a weekend wheeler. she daily driver her tj and wheels it on the weekends.
she still gets through the slop easier without tugging when i have to winch or tug everyone else, including myself. that's with between 40-50% tred left. i run 36 inch irocks at 5psi.
on the rocks, the trxus out does most others too.
yeah, they are tough to balance. i used 13 ounces of copperhead bb's and a shotglass of anifreeze per tire. seemed to help a lot.
i say the trxus, they come siped and the lugs are close enough for a quiet road ride, yet far enough apart to shed the mud to keep you going through the deep stuff. plus i like the looks.
also, for the areas to get the snow/ice, the siping helps keep you on the road.
i'd say it's the best all around tire you can get.
mtr's have no siping and are like a slick tire on the shiny snow/ice.
up here, they are the hottest tire along with the iroks. but it all depends on the terrain/condition you wheel on.
