interchangable?

interchangable?
I have a 89 4.0 4x4 .I was wondering if anybody knows what other years are the engines interchangable with?I dont want any problems I just want to drop it in.

fyi i have gotten another 89 cherokee junker i live in NY on longisland it has a 4.0 in it. i removedsome parts from the motor starter,alt ps pump,dist, and valve cover and some other small parts but the engine ran great. if you want it you can take the whole truck before the junk man comes to get it.
