Default installing gears

I just bought a set of 4.56 gears front and rear for a dana 30 and cryco 8.25 with an aussie locker to go in the rear. I am a pretty competent mechanic but have always said gears and transmissions are two things I won't touch. The cheapest shop around town wants $500 to install....seeing how I spent the money on the gears I am looking at doing the install myself. I also have rear discs I am going to swap on at the same time.

So, my question is, how hard is it to install gears (with master install kit) and anyone in Knoxville have a little free time and a thirst?

not to hard just make sure you make a set of setup bearings so you dont have to keep pressing them on and off. your also gonna need a descent dial indicator to set the correct backlash. theres plenty of how to sites online that will show you step by step how o get the job done

Could I just use my old ones to make a set? And how to make a set?

old bearings for setup bearings? yes you just need to use a die grinder to grind the inner race so they slip on and off easily

Lots of stuff on the internet too, including video instructions on YouTube. It's not too difficult really.
