So i don't have the money right now to get new leaf packs for my rear, they are sagging bad. So i figured for the time being i would just give it some blocks to at least level with the front. I found a 2" block kit for $45 (Rough Country).http://www.jcwhitney.com/rear-axle-l...13d1163y1985j1
I dont know how these install is it a matter of lifting, unbolting the axle, and fitting the blocks to the leafs?

So here is what im thinking.
Loosen nuts on ubolts and rear shocks. raise the rear body with jack. put blocks on lower body on to blocks, tighten everything up.

raise xj take off tires set jack stands as high as they will go jack truck up so you can slide them on frame one on each side as close to where the front of rear spring bolts to truck this must be done on hard level ground loosen and remove bolts and with floor jack lower rear axle just low enough to put blocks in stay out from under xj and keep fingers out of any where the can get crushed raise xj rear slowly every thing is back together a second person is really neede for this to be safe to steady rear axle while lowering and raiseing bolt it al back up tight and even and check often

oh, one thing noone mentioned sofwhitewolf is that your old u-bolts you will more than likely end up needing to cut. The kits at autozone i THINK coem with ubolts, not sure if they are the correct size or not tho. Just take your time and be careful and you should be okay.

I wouldnt trust the block kits from autozone. Bought one for the U-bolts to go with my 1.5" Rocky Road blocks (solid steel). The blocks are hollow aluminum and in my opinion didnt look strong at all. I think if you tightened down to hard on the U-Bolts the block might even crack. Also, be certain to not overtighten the U-bolts if they're grade 8 (hardened steel) If you overdo it you might strip out the threads like what happened with mine, but if that does happen just take the u-bolt back to autozone with the receipt and they should give you another.......had to replace one of the U-bolts yesterday, seems it got stripped out when it was put on in a way that it wouldnt come loose but it wouldnt tighten down anymore either
