Replacing my head gasket possibly the head , im taking the head in for inspection Tuesday. untill then im wondering what going on inside my intake manifold? Black grime and wet? I know I should probably clean it before I put it all back together but how and with what? And where did this come from/what is it?

It's oil and grime from blowby/clogged pcv valve. Pretty normal though. That seems a little excessive but it's not uncommon or anything. Of you don't have access to a hot tank or parts cleaner... Soapy hot water will be just fine.

1991-up, it's blowby crud.
Carburettor cleaner and stiff brushes usually work well, a set of large bottle brushes can simplify the job.
