Yes they'll work. I also have a '01 XJ. I just picked up a set of 4 on eBay today for $14.99 + $5.95 for S&H with a return warranty.
You can also hit your local junkyard and grab yourself a set. I picked up 4 from the jy out of a Chrysler Cirrus/Sebring 2.4L for $36.
Take an OHM meter with you to test them on the spot before you pay for them. I tested mine and their good-to-go; soaking in Seafoam right now till I get the ones off eBay, soak them, and install later this week.

That's who I bought mine from. I would go with the new ford ones. Where are ya in Erie? I could maybe give ya a hand.

Has anyone used these, Ford XR3Z 9F593 A4B / XR3E 9F593 A4B (MOTORCRAFT #CM-4956)?
I'm putting in the #02080155784 injectors this week; now I'm reconsidering my choice after reading about these.
