I'm in the process of swapping out my fuel injectors for better ones. In the process of taking the fuel rail off I managed to break approximately 3 red clips where they connect to the tops of the original injectors. I need to know if they are a necessary evil, or can a go without them. If I need them I can't get them from Advance. They had suggested the dealership, any help would be great help.

I've been running 3/6 injectors without ft he clips for a year now without problem. The injectors don't see much movement so I wouldn't be concerned, maybe electrical tape? I broke them all when replacing too haha.

Sounds like me today while I was taking the stupid clips off. 3 out of my 6 are broke, I guess I could use some electrical tape...but it sounds like they will be just fine. Any suggestions on the type of lubricant to use on the o-rings for the injectors?

I had a couple of leaks. I used Vaseline or petroleum jelly and all my leaks stopped.
I also broke a few of those clips too. No problems.

Good to know, from what I have read you can use Vaseline or silicone lubricant. I think I will opt for the Vaseline, it doesn't cost anything extra. Good to know you didn't have any leaks with it either.
Haha, sounds like everyone seems to break them in the process.
Did you clean the injector manifold holes with carb/choke cleaner before putting new ones in?
Broke all mine upgrading too. Don't need em. The connector still stays secured just fine. Tried stealing some off boneyard Jeeps. Guess what happened? It's just that I knew they were broke and that is what bugged me. I got over it.
