infamous p1391 code -installing cps
I am another victim of the p1391 code. Started last week with cel on three different and on the last occasion, the engine started missing when light came on, spitting out the 1391 code and a few ignition module codes. My regular mechanic cannot recreate the failures in the shop and the cps and crank sensor both appear fine on their scanner and are in sync. I got the jeep back and got another 1391 within two hours. So the ball is back in my court. FYI- The cps was replaced 4 months ago when jeep stopped running.
I want to start by replacing cps with OEM Chrysler sensor as many of you have suggested. My question - is there any trick to installing it....it appears to be just unhook the wires and remove 2 small bolts and its off. Any advice or comments on that??? This is a 2001 Cherokee Limited, stock 4.0 engine
Thanks
