its not about how big your lift is... its about how much your axle drops... i see 3.5in lifts with SYE's all the time...

transfercase drops suck... why add something that you LOSE ground clearance? maybe for a daily driver... as long as you dont hook anything on it and rip the mounts out of the unibody since now the leverage is there to do so...

I had a 3" lift on mine and I HAD to do a tcase drop, and even then I was throwing my driveshaft on hills and a few times on the hwy. I just installed a Teraflex SYE kit(with custom driveshaft for $410). Spend the money on the SYE. Idk if you know, but throwing driveshafts is NOT fun, especially since they tend to go when you need them most. Had to use some VERY aggressive driving few times to climb a hill in 1 wheel drive.

i dont know how you guys are having all this trouble with t-case drops, ive got the rustys 1 inch drop crossmember, and i have never had any problems, no ujoints going and definitely not throwing any driveshafts, i still want to get an sye though, and im going to get the iron rock hack n tap one, cheap and easy and comes with a driveshaft

RE hack n tap for 100$ then spend another 50$ for a front DS to throw in the rear. total 200$ worth of stuff and you got yourself a good SYE+DS combo.

you might as well go with iron rock, cause they sell you the kit with a rebuilt driveshaft for the same price

You can always use washers or something similar to drop your x-member however far you need it.
Some companies make "lift motor mounts, which would do the same thing as a t-case drop.
