Default inexpensive sye kit

I have a 96 xj, and I was getting ready to lift her up 3". I have enough money for the lift, steering stabalizer, new steel wheels, new 30" tires (for snow not 4x4), and extended brake lines for front and rear. I don't want death wobble, or have to use shims but I don't want to drain $200 on an sye. So my question to you is, is there an sye kit that's within the $100-150 price range? I was saving all my money to buy all of this at once so it would be ready to go on by novemberish. Any help is appreciated

I started to do some research into this a few weeks ago and found that it's possible to find the correct t-case yoke that can be shortened and bolted to the t-case to make it "fixed" and then you can use a front drive shaft on that small of a lift. This is probably the route I'm going to keep it on the cheap.

It's possible that you might not need one if you're only lifting it 3", so wait until the lift is on and then drive it. Might be worth it to drop the t-case an inch or so until you have more money to spend on a HD SYE.

I agree. Wait to see if you have vibration issues after install, if you do drop the TC crossmember. 3" shouldn't cause you enough headache to install a sye if you don't have the $$. That was you can save up for a HD sye for future plans.

i agree with these guys, just do a 1" t-case drop cause it is cheap and you probably wont even need that. i got away with 5" of lift with a 1" t-case drop and no SYE, i finally got one for my 7" lift cause it is necessary. also for the SYE you can use a front driveshaft off of another Cherokee and it should fit fine, but pull one off an auto, they are longer

Don't need a sye of extended brake lines or shocks.... for 3 inches... don't need control arms either...

Definitely wait and see... although too many people are saying that it won't be necessary. Some jeeps can go 5" without an SYE, while others get vibrations after a budget boost.

Also, it seems weird that your price range goes to 150, but $200 would be a "drain". It's not really that much more, especially for something that may be a necessity.

Iron rock... I dunno why I said iron man... lol... but that's the one I was talking about... I've heard u can also call and order everything but the driveshaft and use your own or a extra and it comes out den cheaper... been trail tested with no complaints either... and takes less time to install...

I just bought an iron rock hackntap and a 4.5 rc lift, gonna install both, but only cause cf guys claim more vibs in the newer years 96+ cherokees, mine being a 98. I do have tcase drop kits for sale, made to custom sizes, prolly a 1" would do good for ya. $20 shipped anywhere in USA, made and help install for 95thorxj and resolved all vibs. PM me.
