Default Importance of transfercase output shaft length

I have a np231 I just opened up and have resealed, it came of a 95 xj automatic an I need it on my 94 xj 5-speed(ax-15). The output shaft currently attached to my rig is about 8 inches from the point that the tail housing meets the actual case half(this is factory), but my new tcase output shaft measures about 9 inches from the same point, how much difference will this make?
