importance of rubber/leather lower sheild?
I took the lower rubber tire material like shield out in between the front axle and the best motor ever made (by amc/dodge anyway) during my 4x4 swap. My question is how important is this piece(I kinda like being able to look up in there) with everyday driving? Anybody else run without one?

Not important. I would venture to guess that most, not all (some people might still have em) but most folks here have already gotten rid of theirs. Or the PO did somewhere down the line.

O.K. cool I was thinking it was no big deal. I think it may cool off faster with it off, I noticed that when it hits 215 and the fan comes on the gauge comes down a little faster.
