I have a 95 xj with the 4.0 in it. It has been randomly dying and finally remembered that you can turn the key on and off 3 times and it will give you a code. I did that and it gave me code 25 which is suppose to be for the idle air control valve. So i replaced it and now it's doing the same thing it was but more often. Is there a way to reset the computer that i need to try or did i get a bad part out of the box? Oh and yes i checked and it's still throwing the code after i changed the part. Please help!

Does it stay running as long as you keep your foot on the gas, or is it crapping out even when your foot is on the gas? Does it happen when the engine is at operating temp, cold, or both?

It happens at any time. It happened this morning while driving down the highway at 70mph at operating temp. It has also happened sitting in mcdonald's drive thru. That's why i'm confused it's totally random and i can't seem to make it happen either.

Ok guys looks like the guy at autozone red the code wrong when we did the on off thing it blinked 3 2 5 5. Now if i understand the blink test right the first two numbers are the code and 5 5 means end of test. If 3 2 is the code then i have an egr problem right? I don't have alot of money to blow on parts so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, They start failing when they get heat soak issues. Basically when it gets hot, the sensor starts acting up and it can/will randomly kill the engine on the highway or idling in the drive thru. You will be able to start the engine again but once you put a load on it (put it in D), the sensor will kill it.
Edit: Link to kinda describe a way to test it with a voltmeter.
