hi guys, has anyone every had an ignition switch slider keep moving around on them? when i first changed mine out, thought it was bad because no fuel (ended up being bad fuel pump out of the box, grumble) replaced with dealership part. Adjusted it, jeep ran fine. went on long drive to work, slider out of adjustment and wouldnt start again after work. After figuring out that the switch was the problem, readjusted and jeep started up fine for short trips. Took a long drive, now key wont turn the jeep on again. So im thinking it is out of adjustment again, going to drop the column tomorrow to check. I am pretty sure i tightened everything up good, didnt want to go crazy because of how small the parts are. can jump it at the starter with key on and it runs just fine. Am i not tightening it enough? I replaced the key cylinder when i changer out the switch.

I think im just going to wire up a push button start if everything is working when the key is in the on position. will starting it that way cause other problems later on? i know that when you start normally the accessories get shut off while the car is cranking, this way they would still be on when i start the jeep. it worked while i was working it out the first time the ignition switch went out of adjustment, i just dont want to cause any long term issues.
