ignition smoking
Well without really being able to see the problem, it sounds like your ignition switch is wearing out. Here is a related post (not a jeep) about how replacing the ignition switch stopped the smoking

will first i did replace the switch. it did the same thing.the red was a battery hot,the pruple was a acc and run wire.traced all back to fuse box,not a thing wrong.well the blower fan never had anything but high so i replaced that switch a while back.but that did not fix it,so later on the fan started to make a rattling noise so i just had to deal with for the time being.so know i need a resider and maybe new fan blower.well i worked to fix smoking problem, i let it run to see how long it took to get hot.so as fan got on my nerves i turned it off and the ignition cooled down.but turn the fan off it starts too heat up.so fan is more than likey my short. so off to buy a blower motor and resider and maybe put in a relay to help
