Hey guys looking for some input on a problem i'm having. When i turn off the ignition, my headlights come on for about 15-30 seconds then shut off. I'm aware that if you leave the lights on AFTER shutting off the ignition they will be on a timer. But this is happening if i turn the lights off before i turn off the ignition. The second i turn the key off, the lights flip on. Anybody else experienced this problem? I can't figure out why power is being sent to the headlights when the ignition is turned off... Any input or help will be much appreciated, TIA.

I do have an HID conversion, where my headlights run off ballasts. I'm wondering if they are super sensitive to 12v power and turning off the ignition kicks them on for a second...

HIDs are good, but I switched mine back to stock sealed beams for now. I got sick of feeling self-conscious while driving at night, I know I was blinding everybody. Unless you buy real projectors (not the fake EBAY crap), you are going to be blinding other drivers. I think a company finally came out with real projectors, but I don't remember the name.
You can always upgrade the headlight wiring harness, get conversion headlight housings, and some H4 bulbs. The people on here who have done this have been very happy with the results. I want to do this eventually.
This is just my opinion, but I do not recommend the HIDs.

Those aren't real projectors. Those are designed to use standard bulbs. HIDs will scatter the light, blinding other drivers. Let me see if I can find the housings with real projectors.
If you are considering doing the typical H4 bulbs, the Autopal headlight conversion looks to have a much better light pattern than the sealed beams. Pair that with an upgraded wiring harness which will make the bulbs shine to their true potential. With the improved beam pattern and light output, the results will be a HUGE improvement over the sealed beams.
Here are the main reasons I don't like HIDs. Most people put them in housings designed for use with standard halogen bulbs, this is the reason they are so blinding. I don't want to deal with ballasts that can stop working. HID bulbs are also expensive, they seem to be about $80 for a pair of replacements.
