Default Ignition Lock Frozen - Coincidence or Not

Had the dash out today, just putting a face place in the cluster.

Put it back together, turned key to check everything, blinker lights
did not flash. Took it apart reinstalled, everything worked fine.
(but the key turned in the ignition and the truck started)

Putting it back together, I put it into 1st gear, Automatic, while it was running,
to get space to put the radio hazel back in. Turned it off to reinstall
all the rest of the panels.

When I went to put the key back in to start it up and check all
the lights and functions...

My key would not turn and I could not get it out of park

I tried all 3 keys, none of them will turn the ignition lock

BTW, the steering wheel is not locked - Dont think it ever has locked

Any ideas

Tks
Will

PS

Tried some lubricant in the ignition

Tried juggling the key every which way

One thing I did notice is the button on the shifter
only pushes in a tiny bit...it use to push in all the
way

Answer: Coincedence

It is the ignition lock.

Can I get an ignition switch tumbler rebuild kit
at an auto parts store or is this a Jeep Part...

i would get a new ignition lock and transfer over the lock discs. it's a bit tedious but if if you keep everything in order and pay attention to it as you take it apart it's pretty easy. i'm sure there are youtube videos showing you how to rekey an ignition lock., if you dont feel comfortable doing it bring the old and new lock cylinders to a locksmith. and on a side note... quick simple question.... you did put the shifter back in park right? lol.

Got a kit from Advanced Auto and re-keyed it for the old key...

Yeah, the shifter was locked in place. Freed up when we put the new
cylinder in...
