Finally a chance to reply thought id never get a second ward in. First i was just stating my situation and my fact i never go over 210 since the sludge problem was addressed so to me if its over 210 u have some type of problem that needs addressed like it are not that's up to you to fix not me. i changes new water pump high flow, new T-stat 185, new radiator with overflow system, new hoses, flushed, and last new oil pump high velocity flow and now never exceed 210 even at 100 mph i hit 185 T stat opens and at 210 fan comes on after resister mod. so i love it now.this is fact and you to can have the same its up to u. SO GET OFF MY BACK, I'M OVER IT!!!!!!

Yours may have had an overheating and sludge problem. Sucks for you. But just because yours had this issue doesn't mean they all have the same issue you do. Your Jeep probably had crappy maint. done all the time.
Most people here don't have to drop money on a new thermostat, radiator, lines, water pump, or anything else you pissed money away on. And they are all fine. Which is what tons of people mentioned.
Soooo, congrats, you pissed tons of cash away on a bunch of stuff your truck probably didn't need. Do you want a cookie or something?

Lighten up, dude. It came from the factory with a 195......everybody knows that, duh......but since Mopar offers a 180, they must think it's correct enough/acceptable enough, or they wouldn't offer a 180. Go tell Mopar they're 2 different things.

Am I gonna be doomed if I don't?
Its funny that you tell me to lighten up, yet you took the time to argue the difference between correct and acceptable.
If its correct enough why'd "mopar" put the 195 in the truck in the first place?

Ive owned 3 jeeps now and they all have been in the range of 210 or less depending on the weather and the condition of the jeep. for example sitting for awhile, crusing, ect. my current 2dr likes to run estemated at 200, stock gauge. lol and that is with just about a new cooling system! i had the water pump blow up so bad that it put a hole in the radiator a few months back. as for the temp of the thermostat, it depends on the use of the vehicle and the location of it. I just redid the cooling system on my 65 mustang and put in a 160 degree thermostat to get more performance out of it. but that setup called for it to run cooler.
