I have put about 1100 miles since new fuel pump and complete tune up, change less than $700. I now have a new issue with the idle. Starts and dies and after about 3 starts it will run at idle. I also noticed that at normal idle, 750 rpm it will idle up to 1500 rpms and will stay for a minute and drop back to 750 again. I also notice this while driving I can let off the gas but it stays at about 1500 rpms for a while. I tried to clean the throttle body with some WD40 last week but no change. The clincher is it only does this every now and then but enough to be a problem.

I removed the IAC and cleaned it with WD40 and reinstalled. It was a real pain to get the O-ring back in. I found a little trick, place O-ring in the freezer for about 15 minutes and it went right in. I restarted it and would not idle or start without foot on the gas. I could rev upto 1500 rpms but would die if I took foot of the gas. This morning it would start at low rpm and idle up to normal about 750 rpms. I reset emc and idles normal so far.

I have a similiar problem with mine but it's only random and I can't figure it out. It mostly did it during the winter, it would idle normally for a few seconds, then jump up in RPMs, then idle normally for a few seconds, etc. Did like you did and changed all kinds of "tune-up" type parts like the fuel filter, plugs, wires, distributor cap, air filter, PCV valves, ran sea foam through it, etc. with no luck. It hasn't done it since the warmer weather came, though... I have a feeling it might be one of the sensors.
