I have completed a 'search' on the Tech Forum, but can't find the answer to my query.

I want to fit a 2 speed Taurus fan to my XJ, but am unsure how to identify a 2speed fan. I don't want to part with coin, only to find I have a single speed unit..........

I am aware that the part number for the fan is 8C607, but are the serial numbers stamped anywhere, or does it say "this is a two speed fan" stamped anywhere on them???

Any assistance with this small matter would be appreciated....

Cheers, I am aware of the year e.t.c of the vehicle the fan/s are from, but my dilema is, my local Ford wrecker tells me he has 180+ electric fans on his shelf and tells me to 'take my pick'!!!

That's why I need to be able to tell which is a 2speed, and which is the single speed.

2 Speed should have three wires and a single speed only two, correct?
