Idel problem

95 xj cherokee that won't stay at idle without 2 footing it police package and extended idle on switch. Any suggestions?

Need a LOt more info dude.

What engine, what does it do exactly (does it stumble, does it die quickly)? Does it start right away?

It's 4.0 ho it will start if you give it gas if your not in the gas it dies right away, I just pulled the plugs and they are ****ing black and the oil smells like gas
