Did you have the "No Bus" problem before the alarm system was removed?

Most cases when this occurs it is because the ecm/pcm has either a loss of power or ground to the computor. I would start looking at the wires at this point. Start from the pcm which is located on the passenger side firewall and begin tracing back the harness all the way over to the power distribution box. There is a good chance you are going to find a mouse has had a nibble on the convelute covering somewhere on that harness and he may have chewed up a few wires.

x2, something else that will cause this:
1) a 5v reference wire shorted to a sensor
2) bad grounds
3) poor connection at the back of the cluster

He is right , just dive in and have a look around, see what you find
Good luck!

I gave you a link for a google search results for an XJ no bus indicator... you ignored it in one of your other threads about this problem. Did you follow the results and read?
