i greased everything on my jeep the other day and it was fine until i hit railroad tracks now when i am going 40ish and i let off the gas i feel a continuous banging on the floor board my shaft u joints don't seem to have any play what else could this be

 

you check all the ujoints?

 

the ones on the driveshafts those all seem good the only other thing i notced is when i press the gas my TC raises like 3/4 of an inch is this normal?

 

Zip ties on the drive line maybe? Lol

What kinda sound? bang, clunk, tap...

Where is it coming from? Driver floor, fire wall, center consol...

 

its feels like the driver floor and its a loud continuous taping noise

Cause a drive line would be more of a thud!

 

not really more of a like thud i can feel it and hear it

 

check your motor mounts as well, i bet theyre shot.

replace those and the tranny mounts, seems to be the problem.

 

is there a way to check motor mounts?

 

Ya just look at them & replace if they are cracked or worn!

 

Sounds like the motor & tanny mounts are shot & the front axle yoke to the drive line is beating up ur exost down pipe... Go look

 

they dont look bad at all is there any specific things to look for? cause i didnt see any cracks

 

The mount is nothing but a big piece of rubber with a hole for the bolt. When they are bad, the rubber will be torn or missing pieces.

 

then its fine does the tranny have mounts?

 

How does ur exost look?
