alright well the overheating is no longer a problem.
however it is leaking coolant from the back of the head i believe. not causing any issues but leaking.

this is the best place i could get a picture, i took it from under the exaust manifold

it looks like alot but only a few drips will actually come off the vehicle

im not to worried, i still have good oil pressure and no water in the oil

any ideas?

Check your electric cooling fan. If its not kicking on, direct wire it and see if is getting power or is just dead. Also if your coolant is over flowing out the reserve check your water pump. Mine is also over heating but it sits at 210. I am used to working on 350s and 351s so all this Jeep stuff is new to me and I am having an overheating problem. Even if the cat is out that should t account for more then 5%.

Its not leaking where your temp gauge is connected to the block is it? Thats an easy fix.

Its not overheating anymore, but im not sure where the temp sensor is. Would it be behind the head? Because everything backbthere is one heck of a ***** to get to or even see so replacing anything back there would be more than difficult.

Aha its all good man, im not to worried about it. Again, my trucks not overheating so no rush. Its just an inconvience. Ill probably just go buy a bottle of sealant and see if that does it

Quick search found there is one on the tstat housing and one on the drivers side at the back of the head. Right where my leak is coming from. So thats what ill check in the morning. Kudos on the good guess.

Default Thermostats

Only buyStant thermostats $12.00. The cheap import thermostats $8.00 that are sold at all parts stores are junk in 2 weeks. A good Stant thermostat will eliminate alot of cooling problems because they work so much better.

There's a freeze plug back there... difficult to get to, if its the one on the backside of the engine.

its your thermostat nothing else when its bad it doesnt allow the coolent to be pushed through the engine so it over heats i have a 1992 sport sae ingine dd the same thing get the part (thermostat) and any parts store make sure your ingine is not hot its located on the front of your engine infrom of your valve cover their are two hoses one on each end and a i believe two bolts holding it in place remove the bolts scrape the piece clean as well against the engine get a new thermostat gasket and the sealer apply perfect make sure all parts line up put bolts back on let set for a few hours then start problem solved
