The past couple of days has been hell for my XJ. Thursday I drove 5 hours from NY to PA. Then another two that day to stay at my Grandmother's house, then the next day another 4 hour round trip back and forth from Waymart PA to Exton PA. Saturday was another 4 and today was another 4. Now this was mainly at highway speeds 65-80mph with some 25-50mph back roads in the mix. Now when my Jeep downshifts to get up a hill it will sometimes make a sound similar to the sound of a supercharger. Now I'm thinking its a bearing issue but wanted to check on here to see if anyone else has this issue.

 

Where's it coming from? Transmission? Belt driven accessories? Obstruction in the air intake? Hear anything if you rev the engine up in P or N?

 

Haven't tried it in park yet, so I guess I'm unsure where exactly its coming from but my transmission has a bell housing leak and my Serpentine belt needs to be tightened.
