Default same problem

I am having the same problem with my 94 cherokee, but at the same time my alternator died. Coincidence?

Its probably your lock up converter in your tranny, thats what mine was doing, mine is an auto and it was happening near shifting. there is a way to test for this, next time it jolts on you put your brake on, not hard just apply it and if your rps shoot up thats what it is and thats a rebuilt tranny rite there.
