Default I broke this hose, what is it?

I broke this tube/hose while I was messing around under the hood. It's made out of what seems to be hard plastic and has the diameter of about a pencil. Someone told me it the PCV or maybe CCV hose/tube. Is this correct? I just put a piece of hose over the break and taped it up. Where can I buy a new one? Thank you very much in advance.

Will there be any noticeable effects if I drive it with my "fix" in-place, instead of actually buying a new one and installing it? Thanks.

If that hose you used is a tight enough fit it should be okay.

If the fit is a little loose you can use a little RTV to seal it up instead of taping it.

If you start getting idle issues or bucking, it may be from a vacuum leak there.
If the car is running fine, then you're fine. I would just reinforce it with duct tape.

Duct tape looks too hillbilly-ish.

Yep. Use electrical tape or as a last resort, black duct tape.

I think he means just wrap a larger hose around the busted hose, and then clamp it down.
After duct taping, of course.

Easiest thing I've seen to do is what someone did to mine. Just get some 3/8 hose or something and 2 clamps and you're good
