Post Hummm...

Everytime i get up to around 30-35mph there is a humming noise coming from the rear section of my jeep, could it be that the rear needs fluid or something?..

thanks, jmart

couldnt hurt to check the fluid level/condition. while u've got the cover off inspect for any metal shavings or anything like that.

also possible that its a wheel bearing going out, so at 30-35 mph steer side to side to shift weight from one side of the vehicle to the other; if the noise fluctuates while you do that, its probably gonna be one of the rear bearings going out.
also inspect your rear tire tread for "stair-stepping", or "scallopping/chopping".

have the tires been rotated recently? if you just rotated the tires and havent done an alignment in a long time, its possible the front tires had some funky wear on them and then got rotated to the back.

it is possible, but i would check all the other stuff out first, especially diff fluid level/condition . if you went mudding and got water into your diff, all the bearings in there will be pi$$ed.

Let me guess. It gets louder when you coast right? If it does, you need new gears. There isn't enough backlash. Whomever did your rear end failed.
