So for starters I have searched this site high and low, used advanced search as well no go.

According to my Chilton's manual the front hubs on my '89 xj are in fact rebuildable, granted they are not a sealed replacement which I think they are not, is this in fact true? I would much rather do that than put down all that cash for replacements if I have other options
has anyone done this? is there a magical thread my awesome computer skills couldn't find that explains exactly how to do this?

 

if i remember right i remember hearing the bearings on the earlier xjs are replaceable without buying a whole new hub assembly. my best guess would be to first take it out and see if its a sealed unit or not, then go to the parts store and see if they even have it.

 

I got that but Im looking for a thread a guide or what have you, the chilton's has instructions but not a single picture just a poor diagram that doesn't help

 

yeah chiltons and all the other manuals seem to suck... but sorry man i can't help ya there, just trying to give you a little direction.. but like i said i'd just take it apart check it out and go from there..
