Well darn, my files are getting too big, I couldn't find the deal. Here's the deal. You can fit a 3", 3/8 ratchet extension in a rear hole there, brace it, than use the power steering to force the hub off.

In the video it took two guys.....I'm sure there is a way with one though! Also heat always helps. I did mine so long ago (with a hammer) I don't remember.

I used a rubber mallet but I was replacing the hub assembly so it didn't matter. Maybe if worse comes to worse, give that a shot.

Saving!^.....there might be a similar method, (not on the U-joint Ear), but through to the assembly. ....somebody will be along.....

I agree 100% but I just didn't care, it was an '85 that leaked a quart of oil every 100 miles and was used to get me to the top of the driveway when it snowed.

It ran well for being a 2.5 with an unknown amount of miles. I even drove it the 55 mile round trip to work plenty of times.

Yea, the truth is in a fairly long video on the whole job, it wasn't clear to me exactly where he put the 3" extension. I thought maybe right in a bolt hole....yea....been a while, thankfully!, (and thanks!)

When I did mine, I got another bolt the same thread and length of the 3 you remove from the back of the knuckle. I threaded it in about 3-4 threads and then took a hammer to the head of it. As the hub pushed out, I would take the bolt out, move it to another hole and repeat. I did this until the hub came out. I didnt have to use any pb blaster or wd40 or anything.

As far as the axle disconnect...I have no clue. I'm barely outside of that era with my 92 haha.

Just get a bigger hammer and smack the crap out of the hub bearing if your replacing it,mine were stuck to I had to use alot of force with a BFH to get them out, when you get them out clean the area and put some grease on it or anti seize.
