I posted two videos of the noise within a couple of hours of each other. Simply as a reference. Maybe if I kept posting them day after day and asking questions without doing anything myself I could understand the attitude, but as it is I basically made a post asking if anybody might know what this noise is, and you effectively told me to F-off and figure it out myself.

Oh right..

But what have you done besides post videos?

Everyone HAS told you what to look for....

Have someone hold the camera, and lets see a video of you pokin your noggin under YOUR Jeep, checking out the numerous suggestions you've been given!!!

Its only been like 24 hours since my original post. In that time Ive had school, work, and a kid to take care of. Maybe I should have forgone sleep so I could stay up late into the night to satisfy your need for immediate results on my end, but I decided I'd like some rest. My bad. Sorry if my not being able to tear my jeep apart at the drop of a hat doesn't suit you. I wouldn't have thought that creating a post and putting all the information I had in it, as quickly as I was able, would elicit such a crappy response, especially from someone who is usually helpful.

Oh come on man...All you had to do was go check those few little things. It don't take long, max 5 mins. Then come back and say, Yes I just checked those things and all seemed ok or not ok. Now still no info if you check those things. Just making vids and arguing with Cruiser is not going to fix your prob. No go look, check the H/Balancer and when the sound happens try unplugging the AC pump and see if it stops.. good luck

9 years later lol, but this argument was stupid. I was a master tech for 15 years, believe me I know how to poke and prod to find a noise. And still, here I am looking for the easy solution lol. Was there ever an answer to this? My jeep is doing the exact freaking thing. Comes and goes but everytime I get under hood with a hose to isolate the noise it stops doing it.

My DSM has a water pump going out and it makes a humming/howling noise, I confirmed the noise was coming from my water pump by running the engine briefly without the belt installed.
