Default how to tell what coil springs I have.

last fall I pulled a set of coil springs off a grand cherokee to do a budget lift on my xj. I don't think I was completely sure when I pulled them, what exact model they were on. But now that its been a few months I have no clue what they are from.
I have them just lying around and want to know if there is any way to tell what they are from or how much of a lift I should get with them, before I go through all the effort of putting them on?

Can you get the measurements from them and post. BTW the 4.0L ZJ springs are the same length as XJs.

if you pulled them from a V8 cherokee then they're supposed to give you around 2 inches of lift.

I would measure then and let us know. I thought that the V8 GC only gave about an inch.(just what I have heard) Also If you are just looking for somthing to do to your jeep and dont know what just throw them in and see. If it sits higher your good and if it stays the same well at least you doing have to pull them back out. lol ( lets just hope it doesnt lower it. lol

Well, the V8 ZJ had 2 different coils.. and that depends on whether it was an upcountry or not.
If not, the the springs net around 1" . With the upcountry, they net anywhere between 1.5-2" on avg. This will also depend on how much your coils ahve already sagged and if the Zj coils sagged as well.

There may be a PN somewhere on the coil.

Depending on how worn they are look for an inch to inch and a half. Stock is 17".
