Default rear help

im 5000% sure there are probably a million threads asking this same question, but i cant find them.

today i was driving my rig through the snow in my yard and i got a little stuck and came to realize that if i had a posi. it woulda been much easier to get out than it was. now my question is would it be easier to rebuild my rear into a posi. or to just get a new posi rear. if so which rear. and if it would be worth it whats the cost/hassle/time involved.

again im sorry if theres tons of these threads. ill delete if it someone can point to another thread that answers my same questions. thank you to all. im quite the newbie and need all the help i can get.

The next time you get stuck and you have not yet installed a locker, try this. Since an open differential is designed to send power to the wheel with the least traction it is easy to get stuck. With just a few clicks of the parking brake, provided it is working, can give just enough resistance to the slipping wheel to engage the other wheel and help get you out.

You can't use a spool on a c-clip axle. The closest you can get is a Lincoln Locker aka welded diff which I wouldn't recommend for a DD.
