Default How to Take Out Center Console (1998)I Searched)

Hey, I was just wondering how i can take out my center console, I got all the screws from the console storage box but the front area does not seem to want to pop up... I dont want to waste anyones time, if this is a highly covered topic just send me a thread and ill be fine. Thanks Rob

did you get the screws located under the 4x4 indicator? Also did you get the ones that are under the actual "bucket" ( don't know what else to call it ).

I cant find any more screws than what i already took out....Do you mean through the little black hair things where the 4x4 shifter is mounted? Also what part is "the bucket" Thanks, Rob

Remove the shifter handle,remove the benzel, remove the screw.Remove the "hairy" T-case benzel,remove that screw.There are also 2 screws inside the console,under the armrest.

Under the lid, the inner part of the console will come out. The bezel around the Transfer Case shifter will pop off for access. If its an auto, put the transmission in drive (engine off), and the shifter handle pulls off, just be careful, as the handle takes a decent amount of force to remove, I knocked the rearview mirror off when it came loose.
