How to remove Lift-Gate Glass?

Has anyone removed the lift-gate glass on their Cherokee? Any tips would be appreciated...

a firm hit from the inside should do....at least it did when my buddy bought his XJ and the spare 32 was upright in the back and fell against the glass when he went up hill and almost lost the window and we just popped it back in

You need to break the seal

Usually a sharp strong blade. They make a tool for it too
Once you break it it should pop out fairly easy

Starting in a lower corner work the seal over the hatch frame along the bottom then up the sides. It's really quite easy.

Have someone on the outside ready to catch the glass as you push from the inside.

just over pack with camping gear.

but yeah, the spare tire should work too.

Ah yes the tire popping the back window trick. Happend to me when i decided to jump my jeep, amazingly didn't break just a tiny little scratch. Used 2 flathead screw drivers to put it back in. never fell out after that.
