Search the forum for the write up, I know I saw one floating around just last week or so. I think it comes out in pieces easiest, not sure the difficulty of getting one out whole since that is the goal. Why are you taking it out?

This is true. Normally if you going to take it out you're going to change it out. Personally, I haven't seen anyone get it out without breaking it.

I am not familiar with the innards of them, but if you pop the hose off of it you can get it cleaned up a bit. I don't mean to hijack but does anything negative happen if the valve is left exposed or the hose is not fastened into the intake?

strangely enough...when the engine is running and i remove the hose i notice there is no difference in idling. Therefore im thinking the orifice is clogged. Its a tiny hole that needs to be cleaned with a paperclip

Im assuming you have a '92 by your profile. There fairly simple to remove, turn them 90 degrees counter clockwise and they should just pop out. On later years they were pressed in but on earlier models there designed very similar to your oil cap

This is good to know. Next time I just clean mine instead or buying a new one. Thanks for posting this.
