yea i am about to order a lift kit bec i just didnt the engine swap with a l98 but i want something big and out there i am in the army we got 5 42x15.5 i am getting free i want them on mine like now there are hot as hell
The work required to put those tires on would cost more than the tires. Lets think.....
1-ton axles, with gears, and lockers - 2 grand
bigger brakes - 300 - 500
bigger motor (350) 1500
atlas transfer case - 3 grand
1 ton steering - 300
long arm 8.5" lift - 2500
If you have the money to spend, deffinatly do it right. Dont just shove a ****ty short arm lift on it and put the tires on.. it probably wont move

very much so. Just gotta know what your doing. these puney axles the little jeeps have would not survive those tires. you may be alright around town, flat roads and not getting on the gas hard, but as soon as the axles feel the strain of those tires...SNAP. they just arent made for that much rotational resistance/weight. Bigger axles are def a must. also, another downside, (my personal opinion) to these cherokees is the unibody. your steering box/unibody frame mount will hate you for you making them push/pull those tires around, eventually your unibody will start to get tweaked. When i get my new truck i will give this cherokee to my sister or keep it. If i keep it it will get a home built suspension lift, pretty big one too. I would suggest mounting your control arm to a bracket in the center of the vehicle dropped a few inches. It will make the angle the axis the axle travels on much greater then in its current position. I would get a good reputable companies spring upfront, and maybe even a solid coil over, No spacers, or at least none over 3 inches. Your def gonna need a hi-steer setup, and a custom track bar, not to mention a hydro assist steering set up and a way to reinforce the front end of the unibody and where the steering box mounts to the unibody. as for the rear, a nice set of leaf springs and a good set of traction bars/ladder bars. I havnt even addressed the driveline issues yet. Longer driveshafts, preferably cv jointed and or sye combined with a transfer case drop

if you do go that high, go coils in the rear not leafs. Remember stock xj coils give the rear end 6" lift. So throw some 6" lift coils in the rear of the XJ and you now have 12" lift. easy right? Then you get some lift coils from an earlys 70 bronco. or custom made coils for the cherokee.
But all of your unibody needs to sit ontop of 1 tons like posted and long arms front and rear.
the 4.0 will turn the tires but you need to REALLY gear down and you wont be able to drive it on the highway. the tcase needs to be swapped tho
